Current US Leadership
Oct. 12th, 2009 12:46 amI'm a registered Democrat, but I didn't vote for Obama, in either the primary or the main election. The main reason is a deep disappointment in the Democrats over broken promises and lack of courage to do what's right. I didn't see Obama as being any different.
As things have turned out, he is a far worse president than I thought when I decided to vote Libertarian. His main failings have been in the field of civil rights, just as has been true with the Republicans. He has, in fact, consolidated the mechanisms and methods they began.
As a moderate I am aggravated at the extremists who alternately win elections in this country. The main political parties seem to respond to both defeat and victory by promoting more extreme candidates. And neither party is doing what this country actually needs.
I am not a political creature. My rant, here, would probably seem naive or even anti-American to those who are, on both sides. Which only proves how disconnected they are from reality.
