iMac Attack

Two mornings in a row, I've gone in to turn on the iMac to discover it in sleep mode. Now, I shut down every night. I can see clicking Restart by accident the first time, but last night I made sure to click Shut Down. I don't know what's going on, but tonight I will sit and watch, instead of just expecting it to do what I tell it.

I'm not happy with Snow Leopard, already, due to applications quitting unexpectedly while doing things they otherwise do fine. (Like TextEdit crashing when opening an RTF file I've successfully opened several times before, then opening it fine after I restart the App.) I don't know if this shut down failure is the fault of the update, since it just started day before yesterday, but whatever the reason it's an annoyance.
