Sick Again, or Maybe Still
Aug. 28th, 2009 06:58 pmI seem to have gone straight from an intestinal virus into a cold, or maybe even the flu. So, I'm warning folks that I may not be there at all tomorrow night.
I am hoping (fingers crossed, touch wood) this is something short-lived. I felt fine this morning until about 3:00, but since then have been really tired and sleepy and even a bit feverish. So, don't plan on it.
This just flat figures. I was getting back into karate class, but missed two this week and will probably miss a special upper-rank training session tomorrow. :-(
This is the first time I've had something infectious in months, and I'm really bummed out about it.

9:38 AM and I'm only just now trying to eat.
Woke with churning gut and chills. Fed the cats, took some medicint and went back to bed. For a while all I could do was shiver, but eventually started dozing. Finally got up right at 9. Called in, swept a little snow, started breakfast. Hope I can get to work in time to get my allergy shot.

Really not feeling well this morning. I don't feel sick so much as I just feel really unwell. I suspect this is due to swallowing some nasal spray last night. I felt fine then, but even after taking two different medicines this morning I have no appetite and no energy and have a strange feeling of pressure in my gut.
On the good side, my blood pressure is down a bit, despite taking an oral decongestant last night. (Yes, I was *very* congested. Which may indicate this is actually something infectious.)
I'm going to be late getting to work this morning. Hopefully, in a little while, when the medicines kick in, I'll feel like eating and get to work eventually.
This has been the sickest three months in the division where I work in the nearly 29 years I've been there. *Everyone* has been sick, some of us multiple times. I'm wondering if I scheduled my retirement soon enough...
