Started a pot cookin' with some Uncle Ben's Long Grain and Wild Rice. While it was coming to a boil I got a chunk of cooked but very rare beef shoulder roast and diced it. By the time I needed to turn down the head the beef was ready to add. The combination is now simmering away, and should be ready in about fifteen minutes. :-)

Here's how to make a good hot ham and cheese sandwich: Fold a paper towel, which will absorb excess moisture. Put a slice of the bread of your choice on that. Add the ham of your choice. Put the top on. Microwave until almost steaming. Remove top. Add cheese of choice. (Provolone!) Replace top. Let the heat from the ham and bread melt the cheese.

This way you melt the cheese without cooking it.
