Blargle?

 

My mother called last night while I was having supper. Said she was very sick and to come over at once. So, I didn't even finish supper

Turns out she was mainly dizzy. Or, as she puts it, "I'm dizzy in my head!" (Seriously, is there any other place you can be dizzy?)

Spent a couple of hours with her, realized I needed to spend the night. I went back home to get the cats in and make sure they had plenty of dry food. Before that, though, I closed the house for the night. Or tried to. 

The was one roller shade in the kitchen which has long given me trouble with not staying down. I hadn't replaced it, because before I was always able to eventually get it to stay closed. Not this time. 

After much fussing and wrestling, I finally gave up and got one of the shades still in wrapping I had in the basement. This is one of those mult-length shades where you tear the vinyl to length, compress the axle and install. Except that on this one the vinyl kept tearing to the edge instead of to the roller. I finally had to get a pair of scissors and cut the excess off. Then I found that it was just a *bit* too short to fit the existing brackets. Had to get a pair of pliers and pull it out a bit. 

Anyway, after spending 20 minutes on something which should have taken less than one I had that done. I got the cats in, got my stuff and closed the house. 

Mother slowly got better through the night. Though after I got back home this morning she called to say that now she was having a diarrhea. Only she wouldn't take any Imodium! 

I'm going back over after lunch. Hopefully I can get a nice, long nap before that, 'cause I got very little sleep last night.
