Touch of Magic

Noticed Sunday that the basement floor drain - which connects to the line that also handles the bathroom - was running sluggishly. Tried some easy fixes. Ran a hose from the water heater down the drain, applied some enzyme drain cleaner. No joy. Tuesday I bought a large jug of Liquid Plumber and over the course of an afternoon used all of it in stages. No joy. I'm not sure it reached the actual clog before being diluted beyond usefulness. The drain was still flowing, but still sluggish. I figured I'd work on it seriously Wednesday.

Then, just before I planned to go to bed, it clogged good.

I got serious, going at it with both the hose and my snake. Over an hour and a half later I finally had a free-flowing drain. Cleanup took some more time. I finally got in bed just about three.

Got about seven hours of sleep last night. Wanted more but just couldn't go back to sleep. Will probably nap this afternoon.

Just wish I could air out the house, but weather too cold...
