I really my ZipShot lightweight tripod. Hold it by the head well off the floor, unhook the two small elastic straps and the legs unfold and lock into place. Then just set it down.

It goes in checked luggage when I fly, because if the TSA asked me what it was in passenger screening and I demonstrated, no-one would ever see me again.
