Catching Up

Well, Mother is home and doing better. Hopefully no more middle-of-the-night calls for a while and I can catch up on my sleep.

Meanwhile, catching up on something else: My writing career.

_Asimov's_ rejected _A Bucket Full of Stars_, though with a personal note rather than a form. I have submitted it to an online publisher who pays reasonably well. Here's hoping.

Thomas' character had a vision from Ariel while he was up on the wall, now we're pretty sure he's the Fourth Prophet. And the wall's stained red now. We needed a fey knight's head to pay for passage through the gate home, they had a goblin hunt the day after the ball so we found goblins to protect & got the head from one of their attackers after the battle. Underground goblin city was neat, they elect a new king every seven years, you can be king more than once but just not back to back.

Oh, and I told the Duke of Pain that the Lady of Spiders is his aunt, so he followed us back to the Mark and reclaimed Castle Mallory as its heir. Oops...
