Not a Well Man
Sep. 1st, 2021 09:33 amI had several minor dizzy spells yesterday morning. This isn't unusual; I have inner ear damage from childhood ear infections. They were gone by lunchtime. I went to Georgetown (Kentucky, about 15 minutes away by car) for an allergy evaluation in the afternoon. The weather was drizzly but not really bad. Due to all the rain lately and the continuing flash flood alerts I went mostly by I-64 and then a short way by US-63 and US-25, rather than US-460. No standing water all the way to the doctor's office.
However, by the time I came out the rain was getting harder. I also had to put a few PSI in a low tire. (Fortunately, I keep a pump in the car for just such purposes.) On the way home I again went by US routes the short distance back to I-64, but by this time it was raining really hard. There was some standing water in places, even on I-64.
With wipers on high and paying intense attention most of the way home, I was exhausted by the time I finally reached it.
I was so tired - and sleepy - last night I actually went to bed nearly two hours early. The dizzy spells returned well before that, though. Again, nothing unusual. However, during the night this turned into constant, though fortunately mild, vertigo.
I was still having problems this morning, so I took some Bonine (Meclizine hydrochloride) . This means I can't take my usual oral allergy medicine or gut medicine. I haven't eaten yet and will probably not have breakfast at all. Hopefully, I'll be able to eat an early lunch.
The good news is that the remnants of Ida passed mostly east of here, so the weather in Frankfort never got really bad and is already clearing.
