Under the Weather at a Bad Time
Dec. 6th, 2019 09:39 amI was supposed to have an allergy evaluation today (Friday, December 6th). In preparation for this I was off antihistamines for a week. So, naturally, Tuesday afternoon I changed my furnace filter and used my shop vac to clean out the furnace and clothes dryer. I was already having what I thought was an allergy attack, and it got a lot worse, as expected.
However, that night I started feeling feverish and a bit light headed. Then I got achey. I had this year's flu shot, but no vaccination is 100%.
The next day - Wednesday - I was no better, so I went to the doctor. They did the flu test (running that little pad on a stick into my nose then doing something for about 10 minutes which detects flu viruses) and I failed, so we knew it was probably not that. So, it's either a bad cold or a bacterial infection. The doctor gave me some Stahist samples and a prescription for Z-Pack. I already had some Tessalon Perle left over from a previous coughing episode.
Whatever the cause of this illness is, I have been slowly improving. Today the light-headedness is almost gone as is the achiness. I'm in the draining-coughing-sneezing-just want to sleep phase (yes, I had all those symptoms already; the balance has just shifted and some have - as mentioned - faded). I'm probably very contagious and plan to be home all weekend. Oog.
Still have two Christmas gifts to buy.
Please excuse any typos. I'm sick and my new cat is "helping."
