The Original Grumpy Old Man

I just acquired a copy of _Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol_, the fiftieth anniversary edition on DVD.

This was the first animated holiday special. By some evaluations, this is also the best theatrical adaptation of the Dickens story. It has a good script, good acting (Jim Backus did irascible rich men so well. :-) a charming animation style and good music.

I find it baffling that this isn't repeated every year, the way so many of the animated holiday specials of the Sixties still are.
