Fracking

I suspect that when there is an objective, independent study of fracking (the use water mixtures pumped into natural gas wells at high pressure to fracture the rock and make gas extraction more easy) scientists will discover that all you actually need is water - plus perhaps some wetting adjutants - and pressure. Yet the gas companies will continue to spend millions defending their *rights* to use their proprietary, magic (and proven toxic) mixtures, no matter what those stupid scientists say!
