Back in the early Eighties, geologists running an experimental drill into a fault demonstrated they could increase earthquake activity by injecting water, and slow it by pumping the water out. This was widely hailed as a major discovery, with people speculating that it could be used to release stored strain in a controlled manner and head off devastating earthquakes. (IIRC, it turned out that most major faults are too deep to use this technique on.)

Recently, gas companies drilling in Arkansas were surprised that pumping millions of gallons of water into a gas shale formation is causing multiple earthquakes.

Are they completely ignorant in their supposed field of expertise?

I figured out the next Skiffy Channel movie! (Can't remember the spelling of the new name, but they'll always be skiffy to me...)

You know what a liger is? A cross between a lion and a tiger. These are real creatures, and they are *huge*! As big as a lion and tiger combined!

So, the premise is that when brown bears and polar bears start interbreeding (because the shrinking polar cap is forcing the latter onto land and opening that same land to the former) you'll occasionally get a Pown bear! It's the size of a brown bear and a polar bear, combined, and it will eat you as a snack!

The name of the movie is _Jeanie_. 'Cause she's a light brown bear...
