Several years ago, I read somewhere that Huey Lewis was called before a Congressional drug investigation committee and taken to task for his drug use promoting song "I Want a New Drug." Lewis had to very patiently explain it was an anti-drug song, in which he talks about how drugs have nasty side effects and none of them can make him feel as good as being in love does.

I've been wondering about this, lately, and just finished a Google search on the matter. I can find no record of the event. Did I just imagine it? Or was the event so low-key it's just hard to find?
