stickmaker: (Runner Bluegrass Elf)
Washed my waterbed's sheets today, and noticed the mattress was bit flabby. I hooked a hose to the water heater in the basement, put in a bit of bleach, then went downstairs to turn the water on. Heard pouring water, which wasn't right. Got upstairs and found the hose laying on the mattress, pouring water out which was cascading onto the floor.

After several frantic seconds I got the hose inserted, then went back downstairs to get some towels. As I reached the bottom of the steps I again heard pouring water. Sure enough, the hose was back out. I shoved it in further this time and began frantically mopping.

Mattress full, now, and hose disconnected. The worst of the water is mopped up and the towels are in the washer. Once they're dry I'll use them to finish drying the liner. The carpet I'll dry in a bit with my carpet shampooer, which is designed to remove water from carpet.

Just the sort of excitement I didn't need today...
