Went out shooting yesterday. I tried out a new pistol, plus my grandmother's old .32ACP automatic. However, the king of the show was my Colt Walker replica. I bought this used, and it has some timing problems (that is, the cylinder doesn't always rotate properly) but it's still fun to shoot.
The Walker was the most powerful production repeating handgun until the first .357 Magnum went on sale in the Nineteen Thirties. It is *huge*, weighing around five pound and having a long cylinder and a long barrel. In fact, the cylinder from one of these is heavier than some entire handguns.
Shooting black powder is messy fun, anyway. Shooting a cap and ball revolver even moreso. And shooting _this_ monster just about the epitome.
