In my recently-purchased CD album of John Fogerty's major Credence Clearwater Revival songs, the liner notes mentioned that the scion of a wealthy family who decided to run for politics, and used "Fortunate Son" as his campaign theme. Despite the fact that it excoriates just that sort of person.

Just recently I heard about how Ronald Reagan wanted to use "Born in the USA" as a campaign song before his aides convinced him it didn't send quite the message he intended.

So, how many other spectacularly inappropriate uses of particular pieces of music can people think of? Not just in politics, but in commercials, movies, TV shows...

The turkey was wonderful, the gravy quite fine, the rolls great, the mashed potatoes silky and the chocolate cream pie to die for. :-)

I'm covered in dog hair, cat hair, horse hair, donkey hair, goat hair and chicken hair. (And, trust me, the last is not easy to get.)
