Cat-Astrophe Update
Nov. 24th, 2006 09:42 amMichael continues to settle in. Ringtail tolerates him most of the time, but being an older cat often wants to sleep just when Michael wants to play. For the most part Motley avoids him. This morning I saw them exchange a quick series of one-pawed slaps around the end of a door. I'm not sure if they were fighting, playing, or something in between.
My own biggest problem with Michael is that he likes to jump in my lat and suck on my shirt. Sometimes, keeping him out of my lap when I'm trying to do something (such as post to LJ) requires my full attention.
Overall, though, I'm satisfied with his progress. He seems to be a smart young cat, and is learning. The older cats are slowly becoming used to him. If we can just continue to avoid actual fights, I'll be happy.
