Inappropriate Music
Nov. 23rd, 2006 09:05 amIn my recently-purchased CD album of John Fogerty's major Credence Clearwater Revival songs, the liner notes mentioned that the scion of a wealthy family who decided to run for politics, and used "Fortunate Son" as his campaign theme. Despite the fact that it excoriates just that sort of person.
Just recently I heard about how Ronald Reagan wanted to use "Born in the USA" as a campaign song before his aides convinced him it didn't send quite the message he intended.
So, how many other spectacularly inappropriate uses of particular pieces of music can people think of? Not just in politics, but in commercials, movies, TV shows...

Date: 2006-11-23 02:49 pm (UTC)My favorite is the song "Semi-Charmed Life", which is about doing drugs and getting a blow job. The music is upbeat and perky and "The Tigger Movie" used it in the trailer.
