At the LexFA meeting I was showing off my new carpet (which really makes obvious how bad the wallpaper and linoleum and remaining carpet are) and the basement shelving (which makes obvious the huge pile of cardboard boxes in the middle of the floor; my mother won't let me throw any away until she's had her pick, but she's too busy right now :-).

Rickey and Tracy brought their three boys, who were a bit of trouble but made up for it by often being hilarious. When they discovered what my massaging recliner would do, one of them (Mikey?) jumped in and yelled "Punch it!" Their Three Stooges routines on the (turned off) treadmill were a major photo op.

A good meeting, actually, if a bit underattended. I was very glad to see Janis and (Argh! Forgot his name!).

I just learned that I'm nineteen days younger than David Lee Roth. :-)

Which reminds me; I'm trying to find the title of a recent rock song I like. It has an unusual beat, with a tom-tom carrying it for most of the piece. The only lyrics I can remember are "Bang! Bang!" Anyone have a clue?

(Why don't radio stations give the titles to songs any more?)

I just figured out that the way to get my mother to do something is _not_ to say "Here's what you should do." She'll just flatly reject the suggestion. Instaed you say "Y'know, when that happens to me, I do this." She'll respond with an enthusiastic "Oooh, I should try that!"

That is, tyring it herself has to be "her" idea.

Forget the two people in the parking garage, walking in a traffic lane at a blind turn instead of using the sidewalk. Forget the pair who waited on the corner until I started my turn, then stepped into my path.

Today's award goes to the maniac in the big white van who started tailgating me as we went down the short hill before the entrance to my neighborhood. I put my turn signal on early and slowed gradually to give him plenty of warning, and he _still_ almost rearended me. I blew my horn as I took the turn faster than usual. He slowed abruptly, looking like he wanted to confront me over _daring_ to blow my horn at him, but he was already past the entrance.

I'm still trying to get my breathing and heart rate back to normal.
