More Homeland Insecurity

stickmakerGreat. A college chemistry teacher I know through fandom alerts that Homeland Security is now requiring everyone with any chemical on a list of an even 100 report the fact of possession to them. 'Cause, y'know, chemicals can be used to, like, make stuff.
People who have seen the list say it was obviously compiled by someone with little or no knowledge of either chemistry or how chemicals are used in classrooms and industry. For example, it lists hydrogen cyanide, but no other cyanide compound.
Yet another vague, ignorant rule which will be treated as having the force of law and used to hurt the innocent simply to justify its existence.
