Late Nights, Early Mornings

stickmakerThat's two mornings in a row something has gotten me out of bed early. Yesterday the phone rang, with nobody there. This morning I got up to use the bathroom, then had trouble getting back to sleep. Just as I was drifting off, Ringtail started meowing.
He does this. He's learned to give a distress call (though not a serious one; more like a cat who wants some attention from his mother, rather than a cat in real trouble) for no reason. Even though his only reward is me (less often lately) checking on him.
So, I'm groggy.
