stickmakerFor years, shooting sports enthusiasts in Great Britain have been complaining that to participate in international events they had to practice and store their firearms and ammunition in other countries (usually Switzerland). These complaints were at best ignored; some official responses were on the order of "Well, maybe you should grow up and stop playing with guns, then."
Except...
Britain won the 2012 Olympics. A major part of which is several shooting events. All of them illegal under current British law.
The politicians and bureaucrats, aghast at this sudden revelation of the wider impacts of their laws, have sought exemptions for the Olympics. However, British Olympic shooters are currently still forced to practice and store their firearms and ammunition elsewhere.
