Exposing Oneself Online

stickmakerI was just looking something technical up online and was once again astounded at the belligerent stupidity of some people. A man with a doctorate politely made a correction about something in his field in response to an earlier post by someone else, and a third person called him a "dumass" and began ranting profanely about how stupid he was. Unbelievable.
These people never learn, because their egos won't allow them to ever admit making a mistake, especially to themselves. When something they believe (they never have facts, just "I know it's true because that's what I believe!" attitudes) is challenged the only way they can respond is through bullying, profanity and personal insults.
Eventually, of course, nature (unbribable, unbullyable and immune to politics) will prove them so wrong they die from it and improve the gene pool.
