Work Health Insurance
Oct. 19th, 2005 11:12 amWe're going through our annual health insurance mess again. This year, as usual, there are "major improvements" which even when beneficial in the abstract are poorly implemented.
For instance, we can now enroll online. Only, the form requires the SSN to be entered in a non-standard format, which isn't mentioned in the (very sparse) instructions. There's plenty of room in the field, but the form didn't show the last two numbers. I quickly realized that I had to delete the two dashes (the proper and legally required form) to get them to fit. Then there was the password, which was issued by s-mail. No way to let us register online with the password of our choice; they gave us one which was derived via a standard algorithm.
Once logged in I noticed that my e-mail wasn't listed, and tried to add it. Our work e-mails are case-sensitive. The form only allows upper-case. So I just left it blank.
Haven't even completed the form, yet, but so far am yearning for retirement.
