Computer Conundrum

Since upgrading to the latest Firefox, neither of my computers will show my Web page hit counters in Firefox. They will in Safari.

I've checked everything I know to check, and they all tell me the hit counters are not being blocked. So why can't I see them?

Down near the bottom. There are two counters, one for the page and one for the site. If you use the current version of Firefox do you see the numbers?

Whether you do or not, can you suggest things to try?

Besides the built-in protections, I also use AdBlock Plus.

I'm not getting the images - running Firefox Portable 3.6 and whatever the current version is of SRWare Iron Portable. OK, that may not be a good indicator - turns out my corporate firewall is blocking your counter site.

Trying through my proxies is no better on either.

Sorry, don't have any trouble-shooting hints right now.

Hmm, the counters are provided as XBM graphics. Apparently Firefox dropped support for this format recently. The current version of Chromium on Linux doesn't support it either, and it has long been dropped from IE.

Thanks to those who replied.

If the reason really is a dropped format, well, I'll talk to the guy who hosts the counters for me and see what can be done.

Confirm that it's a format problem. After reading his comment about IE dropping support, I tried your page in IE, and sure enough, red Xs.

So it's not viewable in my version of Firefox on Windows (3.6) and not viewable in IE either.

They do display in Opera (only other browser that'll run under Win2k)

As far as I know, I use the most recent version of Firefox. I am able to see both counters.

I'm on the Windows version of Firefox described in its About dialog box with this version incormation: "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.18) Gecko/2010020220 Firefox/3.0.18 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)". I see both counters.
