Home Repairs
Jun. 26th, 2011 04:30 pmWell, that did not go gracefully.
Just finished repairing the shade which was off when I got home last night. Not only was the actual shade laying on top of the book case, but one bracket was completely off and the other hanging by one nail. While looking for small screws I opened a bag of miscellaneous part. All over a large portion of the basement floor. Got out my big magnet and a paper towel, and started sweeping. Naturally, some of the parts are aluminum.
Got that cleaned, found my screws, got my folding stool and electric driver, and finally set to work. Couldn't put the brackets back in the same place - one of the holes had split out - so the shade is now about a centimeter lower than before.
Well, it's back in place (the shade itself was not damaged) and working. Now to clean up the blood... (Joke!)
