Format Wars
Feb. 20th, 2008 09:58 amAs usual, my timing was perfect.
A few months back I bought the _Star Trek: Remastered_ first season boxed set. It was dual format, regular DVD and HD-DVD. I did not have a HD-DVD player.
Hearing all the commotion about how the HD format was on the ropes I decided a few days ago I better buy a HD-DVD player while they were still available. Yeah, I only had the one set of HD-DVD disks, but it would still play all my regular DVDs and I'm rather annoyed at the player I primarily use right now.
I wound up going a bit over budget for a Toshiba with some nice features, purchased from B&H.
And if I'd waited another couple of weeks I could probably have bought it for half the price. :-(
