Not a bad movie, but I had several problems with it, some social some technical. For example the "Jerome, Jerome the metronome. You could set your watch by the beating of that heart."

A too-regular heartbeat is a _bad_ thing. The exact reason why wasn't known the last I heard, but the leading theory is that a slightly irregular heartbeat allows the heart to respond more quickly to changes in demand.

I was expecting him to get booted, but I must admit the size of the boot surprised me:

I just saw a commercial for a Turok game, in which the character is portrayed as a two-fisted WHITE Rambo-type, a submachine gun in each hand.

The original character was a pre-Columbian native American

He and a friend were trapped in a valley full of primitive beasts, including dinosaurs. Their only weapons were bows, and the fact that they knew how to make a very effective poison to put on the arrowheads. He was an intelligent, thoughtful person who avoided trouble when he could, and was only trying to go home.

My first exposure to Narnia was the Steve Hackett song, in 1978. (See http://narniafans.com/music/insp_song_sh.php for the lyrics.) I'd heard of C. S. Lewis, but for his Prelandria (SP?) series.

My second exposure was a small watercolor in a gaming store, illustrating one of the girls (Lucy?) with Aslan. It had a tag on the back explaining what it was from.

That was what finally led me to seek out the novels. And the lyrics of the song suddenly made a lot more sense. :-)
