Nosebleed

About a week ago I had a very minor nosebleed, at the base of the septum where it meets the soft flesh, not far from the rim of the nostril. There was little blood, and that stopped quickly. I figured I had bumped the tissue with a nail.

Tonight I thought my nose was running, but when I blew out came blood. Not a huge amount, and it quickly tapered off, but it was coming from the same location. This time I was just sitting at my computer, not even blowing my nose, when it happened.

My blood pressure is up right now - 140/95 - but that shouldn't be enough to cause nosebleeds. The BP was fine this morning - 130/80 - so I'm wondering if this high reading it due to simple stress from seeing all that blood.

Whatever, the bleeding has been stopped for over half an hour, even after some tentative nose blowing. I'll keep checking my BP to make sure but for now I'm baffled.

Sometimes I get nosebleeds because the skin in and around my nose gets really dry.

No more bleeding. Blood pressure back down to 125/85 this morning.

I remembered, later, that I had taken an oral decongestant that afternoon. That can raise my blood pressure. Still no explanation of why my nose bled. I was having major sinus pressure, but the nosebleed wasn't up in that part.
