stickmakerI can understand NASA's extreme obsessiveness in avoiding anything which even remotely smacks of something which can induce the Giggle Factor. However, I don't understand why they simply won't come out and admit that even in the new, super high resolution orbiter photos that feature can still look like a face with the right combination of Sun and camera angles.
Instead, they post worst-case images which don't even look like the old Viking orbiter images, and say "See! See! We were right all along!" while trying to surreptitiously push under the furniture those images where the hill does look like a face.
Instead of avoiding the Giggle Factor, they're encouraging conspiracy theorists.
