I hear you about shoes. I wear 11.5EEEE. Which means I've wound up having buy size 13 or 14.
As I've commented more than once "I don't have feet, I have flippers!"
And have you ever actually *measured* a pair of jeans? These days the waist and inseam are *not* the actual measurements.
Frankly they need to quit playing games with measurements *and* sizes. Have measurement be the actual measurements, and require standardized sizing.
Since I'm genderfluid, I have experience only with mens clothes, but womens as well. The sizing there varies not merely by brand, but often by "line" within a brand.
Add to that the fact that for *decades* they've been inflating sizes (so women won't have to admit they are getting larger) and you have a real mess.
They either need to go to measurements (which will require a rather larger number of them than they currently use) or else define different sizing series for different body shapes.
Frankly we need somebody to invent the auto-tailor.
