Selecting cast members for alternate versions of real movies - generally, fictional versions made before the real ones - has become popular. Artists even make fake movie posters for these. (One recent example is a poster for an iron Man movie made in 1970, with Robert Vaughn as Tony Stark.)

So here's my challenge: What if a Doc Savage movie (probably in serial format) had been made in the late Thirties or early Forties? Who would you pick to play the characters?

Johny Weissmuller was 6' 3" and had an incredible physique. However, I feel his voice was too high.

Buster Crabbe was "only" 6' 1" but there was definitely nothing wrong with his build, either, and he had a better speaking voice.

Hmmm... Monk was sometimes described as having a high voice, IIRC. So maybe Weismuller would work for him, even though Doc was supposed to be taller than Monk. As an inside joke, Monk was sometimes described as apelike. :-)

So, who else would folks pick to play the various characters?
