We Need to do Better

We need to be better. 

Mass shootings are a social problem, not a technical one. The technical solutions people keep proposing do little or nothing to help. We need social solutions.

We need to understand why some people do these things. We need to learn how to identify them ahead of time. We need to get them help before they hurt anyone, including themselves. 

We need to pay more attention to each other and be willing to help them when they need it. We need to be willing to ask for help when we need it. 

The motivation is definitely there. It just needs to be turned in the right direction.
