Pennance for Being Sick

I'm on a clear liquid diet until Midnight, then *nothing* until after the medical test tomorrow morning. At One O'clock this afternoon - just over an hour from when this is typed - I take the first dose of prep liquid. The second comes at 8 tonight. (Doctor's directions; the package says different.)

This in spite of the fact that I know what has caused this recurrence. This in spite of the fact that it's getting better. This in spite of the fact that these tests haven't shown the cause before. This in spite of the fact that I have extra risk factors for colonoscopy.

I really wish the practice of medicine would become an actual science, instead of a cult of personality.

Hopefully helpful tip: Chasers of Clear Apple juice after each prep liquid dose help take the taste out and kept me from thowing up. It doesn't harm the test.
