AARRGGHH!!
Dec. 30th, 2011 09:20 pmSpent much of the afternoon and evening yelling at Apple.
Migration Assistant copied the files for Aperture to the new iMac, but didn't register it. When I tried to do so, it rejected my registration number. Because it's for the most recent version (a major enough revision I had to buy the update) and not the original install. I don't even have the disc or papers for that any more. Why would they *do* such a thing, as require an old - and obsolete - serial number for registration?! It's deliberate. I first entered the current number and was told specifically they didn't want that, they wanted the old one.
I can't find anywhere on the Apple Store site to get the original serial number. I can't even find a way to contact them to inquire about this, except by phone.
One reason I bought this new machine was for better image processing. My primary image processing App is Aperture. And I can't use it on the new machine.
I'll try again tomorrow. There is a general 800 number for help with the Apple Store, but I don't know if that will do much good over the weekend. I'll probably have to wait until Monday.
