Shelving

Been doing a lot of cleaning and rearranging in my basement the past week and a half. Got rid of a beat-up old kitchen table and put in a row of modular shelving where that was. These hold a lot more than the tabletop did, so I now have somewhat less clutter. Moved a bunch of other stuff around, too.

Today, I bought more shelving and put it where another table - a take down one meant for patio use and such - was. I took stuff off the shelves under the basement steps (which have been there for years and were very cruddy) cleaned it and put most of it on the new shelves. I cleaned the old shelves, as well as the space under the stairs, throwing out a lot of stuff. Then I put the cleaned old shelves back under the stairs and rest of stuff from the understairs shelves back on them. There was now enough room to move all the paint, brushes and such from a different part of the basement to under the steps, leaving me more shelf space in a location where I desperately needed it.

The result is even less clutter, and much better organization.

Now, I just need to remember to call a Charity which picks up furniture donations and find out if they want the old 1940 gas range. With that out of the way I'll have even more room. Which means I might actually find some items which I'm missing...
