Quick Lunch on a Rainy Day
Apr. 26th, 2011 01:10 pmPut two beef or chicken bouillon cubes in two cups of water. Bring to a boil. Once the cubes are dissolved add the noodles (toss the flavoring packet) from a package of ramen and cook as directed.
I find this tastes better than using the flavoring packet in the brands of ramen I am familiar with. Adding some wheat germ or sliced bamboo shoots provides more body but may be more than you want for lunch.
With beef bouillon cubes, for a more substantial meal you can also add cut-up beef jerky with the bouillon. This might require a longer boiling period to hydrate the jerky, before adding the noodles.
