I am running on about five hours sleep.

I headed for bed over ten minutes late last night, for reasons. Got in the bedroom and discovered my alarm clock had lost its mind. It had the wrong time, the wrong day of the week, and had forgotten both the alarm and the radio station settings. No idea what caused this. It does sometimes have the wrong time because it sets that from WWV and occasionally gets a spurious signal. This was far more thorough. 

I set all the stuff on the clock, confirmed it was right by listening to the radio and checking the time against my wristwatch. I also told it to go ahead and check with WWV to confirm the time, which takes a while. I started to get into my pajamas, and realized I *really* needed to go to the john. 

Sparing folks the details, I wound up spending about twenty more minutes in the bathroom. 

When I finally got to bed i tossed and turned for a while and then started to drift off. Only to wake when I thought I heard something. Listening for a couple of minutes, I decided it was nothing. Rinse and repeat, with the imagined noise usually turning out to be due to something innocuous, usually one of my cats. 

I eventually turned the alarm off, but still woke with finality around 8:00. 

Maybe I can nap, later. Oog...

Addendum: I wanted to do some yard work today but am so sleepy I don't feel safe using power tools. I keep making stupid mistakes. Fortunately, so far they've all been survivable.
