Not So Hot
Jul. 9th, 2018 11:29 amThat refers both to the weather and my state of health. I finally quit trying to tough it out and went to the doctor (for the second time in less than a month) Saturday (the office is open 9 - 12, fortunately) and got put on another dose of Z-Pac. Which Isn't helping as much this time. No surprise, since I think this respiratory infection is what the first dose three weeks ago left. If I'm not better tomorrow morning I'll go back. OTOH, it seems like everybody around here is sick. My uphill neighbor's son was just diagnosed with Hep-A. Turns out he ate at a local restaurant where several others caught it. Makes me glad I usually eat at home. Many people in the Central Kentucky area have respiratory or digestive bugs, and the Hep-A just seems to keep spreading despite all efforts. This isn't being helped by the hot, wet weather.
Anyway, I woke from a nap this morning to find three police cars outside, two of them taking advantage of the shade from the big tree in my front yard. I'd spoken with my uphill neighbor about not seeing our neighbor across the street for a couple of weeks. He was always good about keeping his yard cut, and it's currently looking worse than mine. One of her sons knows him better than I do and apparently got no answer when he knocked. My neighbor finally got worried enough she called the police. The place is empty, fortunately. His pickup is gone. The cops said he just packed up and left; even the refrigerator was cleaned out. They think he'd also redirected his mail. So that's a partial relief. We still don't know where he went.
