Feeling Much Better
Feb. 8th, 2014 11:53 amI've been fighting something going around here, and finally went to the doctor yesterday morning. (I can partly blame the bad weather for taking so long, and partly the fact that my main symptoms were feeling run down and having a nasty cough, rather than being overtly ill.) He believes this is the same bug he treated with a Z-Pack in late December; that we just didn't get it all then. (It could be that, or I may simply have been re-infected. It is still in the population.) He prescribed a 10 day regimen of Amoxicillin. I am reluctant to take antibiotics - especially so frequently - but had to admit I was slowly getting worse, and agreed. I managed three doses yesterday, and took about an hour's nap in the afternoon (hadn't slept well in several nights previous).
Got to sleep pretty quickly last night and slept well and long; nearly ten hours. I imagine part of today's improvement is due to the sleep, but figure most of it - and being able to sleep well - is due to the medication.
I'm still going to take things easy for another two or three days and definitely complete the course of Amoxicillin, but if I keep improving like this I'll be back to full health tomorrow.
