Once More Unto the Breach
Jan. 24th, 2013 07:26 pmGot to my Mother's just before 11 this morning to take her over to Central Baptist for a heart catheterization.
She had two stents put in exactly a year ago, and for most of the time since has seen no improvement, and even some decline. A stress test showed a problem in the same area of the heart which received attention last year. We expected they would put in more stents and she would stay overnight.
Instead, she is home tonight. They say there's nothing wrong with her heart.
So, what is causing the problem? I had the same thing, and both of us started with these symptoms of shortness of breath and lack of stamina after a local outbreak of an intestinal virus early last year. She had it much worse than I did, actually winding up in the emergency room one night. I needed months to start to feel better. I suspect she simply isn't that far along. However, she rejects this hypothesis, and plans more doctor visits. (As she should. I'm not a doctor, and even if I'm right they may be able to help her.)
