Cautiously Optimistic
Nov. 4th, 2011 11:17 amI support the Occupiers and others peacefully protesting the unashamed abuses of so many of the wealthy in this country. However, news this morning of jobless protestors occupying the offices of Mitch McConnell gave me pause. Are any of these people familiar with the Bonus Army and what happened to them?

We have already seen violent responses by law enforcement, some to peaceful demonstrations, some to violent acts which may not have been committed by members of the groups punished for them. Some in authority don't need excuses to resort to violence when their authority is challenged; others will make the excuses.
I have to wonder how many on both sides know about what happened in Washington in July of 1932... and how many of those in power will take the right lesson from that tragedy.
