Reqium for a Cat for a Cat
Dec. 30th, 2010 10:44 amRingtail, faithful companion for twelve years, quietly left this world around 10 AM.
They removed the catheter yesterday, and his urethra promptly blocked again. They offered to keep trying, but was in poor health otherwise, never really recovering from the severe illness of a year ago. I visited with him for a while, and after the vet gave him the injection petted him until he stopped breathing.
I was actually expecting to get this call Tuesday morning. He rallied once the got the fluids and antibiotics going and the catheter in, but even so was still obviously not well. Given the number of times he was sick this year, even if he had recovered from this (he was still sneezing and obviously unwell) something else would have come along soon.
Good bye, old cat.
