The Black Album
Jan. 8th, 2010 11:27 amThought I'd already posted about this, but can't see it in the Entries, so here it is (again?):
I bought The Black Album (the recent remastered mega-album of all the Beatles' music, sold in a black box) a few days after Christmas, from Amazon. Finally got around to ripping the songs I like from it yesterday. Am now grooving to some musical, misspelled insects. :-)
On a technical note, I made sure my MacBookPro was on and connected to my LAN, with iTunes operating and the sharing function tuned on. Sure enough, not long after the files were ripped to the iMac, they were copied to the laptop. :-)
The only real problem I encountered during this process was that most of the discs are partitioned, being part music CD and part DVD with video presentations. Sometimes, the iMac would try to autorun both at once, resulting in a bit of one playing, then the buzzing drive playing a bit of the other, switching back and forth. Sometimes just the video portion would be found. Ejecting and reinserting the disc solved the problem each time.
Addendum: No, the files did not actually copy to my laptop. I couldn't even get them to drag and drop, which is what the iTunes Help says to do. I had to manually copy the files and add them. :-(
Oh, well; at least they are on the laptop, now.
