AARRGGHH!!
Feb. 13th, 2008 01:42 pmShoveled my driveway this morning to go get a haircut. I carefully backed my 2005 Mustang out from under the carport, shifted into first gear, eased off the clutch. The wheels started turning... only instead of going forward and right I went back and left. Until the rear wheels were off the pavement. Every subsequent attempt to get the car back where it belongs - whether with cat liter, boards, towels or a combination - has simply made the situation worse. The car is currently completely out in the yard. The problem is that last night a cold rain soaked the snow, then froze. There's a slushy crust on top of muddy ground. Hopefully, come the thaw I will have more traction and be able back the car into a position where I can approach the driveway from a straight and level section of lawn.
To make my appointment I fired up the 1990 5.0 Mustang. Barely had a slip at all.
