Star Wars Stuff

We're playing the Star Wars RPG these Saturday nights. While I like the first three movies (not Parts I through III but the first three in real world chronology) I'm not a great fan of the series. So I occasionally come up with things outside of canon.

This irreverent attitude leads to some interesting mental images. For example, players keep speaking of someone "lighting" their lightsaber. I started speculating that they were butane fueled, and had a striker like a cigarette lighter or a carbide lamp. Which in turn generated the following filk, sung to the tune of the "Matchmaker" song from _Fiddler on the Roof_.

Lightsaber, lightsaber, lights like a match,
Sings its own song,
Opens the hatch.

And that's when the torches and pitchforks came out...
