The Cobbler's Children Have No Shoes
Jan. 18th, 2006 08:42 amAfter 27 1/2 years with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, I have an observation: Bureaucracies are stupid.
The state Highway Department has something like 5000 snow plows. I have never seen the top deck of the west end parking garage of the new Transportation Cabinet Office Building (which I can see from my work station and where I usually park) cleaned of snow/ice. Not the driving lanes, not even the sidewalks.
