Looking for suggestions for a Joy of High Tech article. The subject of
this one is scientific ideas which were undeservedly forgotten or actively
dismissed. I don't expect you folks to do my research for me; if you can
suggest something I can look it up. Though bits of "inside" information will
certainly be welcome.

I'm going to start out with the relationship of the Greek concept of the
music of the spheres and the Titus-Bode Law, then connect those to orbital
resonance. (The music of the spheres is often misunderstood. While some
ancient Greeks may, indeed, have thought of literal musical tones the basic
concept was to relate the awareness of the mathematical relationships between
string length and period of vibration with the concept of orbital size
determining orbital period, and the generalization that there must be a
similar mathematical relationship between planetary orbits as there is
between
string length and note.)

Plate tectonics will probably also be mentioned. In medicine the concept
of the phage should be worth looking into. (Note that if a concept has been
re-accepted that makes it all the better.)

That gives you some ideas of what I want. Feel free to champion your own
lost causes. :-)

(Why do my hobbies take so much more time and effort than a real job?)
