Phone Problems

I've been getting a lot of weird phone calls, lately. And I'm not just talking about politicians wanting my support for an upcoming state election. I'll answer the phone and there's no-one there. Or I'll hear my own voice echoing back at me. Or I'll get a loud blast of static. Or several loud clicks. One guy called, and I could barely hear him while he couldn't hear me at all. There have also been calls when I was out - which my answering machine picked up - with no-one there.

Yet the problem doesn't seem to be on my end. I can place calls successfully, and have had several where the connection coming in was fine.

Some of those sound like cheap autodialler telemarketing systems.
